Job-search, an obstacle in every graduate's life.

It can be very difficult, or VERY difficult. And I know of a few who stumbled on the way.

"Stay strong!"

While I'm prepared to trip, I'm also afraid that it might be from my first choice company. Like being rejected by your crush. (Not that I know how it feels yet... Lol)

Mmhmm.

I'm starting to type my resume (AT LAST PEOPLE! REJOICE! =D) and I hope it is sufficient.

I'm targeting Investment Banks at the moment, and I think that they don't really hire freshies, I might be wrong though, I hope...

I don't really want to be a trainee, mostly because of the bond and interview stages. @_@ If I do actually get past them then HALLELUJAH!

Bless me while I type my resume.

Hey, feelings that can’t be told in words exist
No matter to how far people stretch out their hands
A place that they can’t reach exists inside of people
Because I like each and everyone’s soundless thoughts
Even if I don’t become something, I remain unchanged on any day

I always do recaps on things that I did because I'm too tired/lazy to post immediately after that. >.<

I'm supposed to meet up with See Mun and Wen Yen at the Imbi monorail about 12pm. So since mum has to go to kaima's to make the kuih kapek, I had to leave about 10.30. I walked around Times Square, until I was so bored I picked a bench and waited about 1 hour I think, before they arrived at 1pm. But all is well, because I'm feeling very good that day. I actually sat and observed the people walking by. Young couples. Working ladies. Secondary girls in uniforms. Without kancing baju. When is the trend going to die off? Geez.

I was also holding bck the urge to buy BigBang's concert CD. Because it's not Ori (based on my experience Ori is NEVER so cheap). And who know's about the quality of the videos eh? So I passed for now. Perhaps after CNY. XD

OMG LADY JUST PUKED ON THE FLOOR. I just cleaned the mess up. Must be indigestion from eating too much! Sigh...

Anyway, so what we did was:
- Followed Wen Yen to Tung Shin Hospital for the medical check up for her Australia visa
- Ate yummy egg tart in her car because we skipped lunch
- Rounding BB area for a cheap place to park
- End up parking in front of Sakura and walked all the way to Pavilion under the hot sun D=
- Decided to eat Fridays for dinner at 5pm.
- Cracked a lame question at Von when she asked where were we eating.
- Chat chat chat
- Shopped a little
- Went to find a place with Wifi
- Settled with Old Town Signature. (More variety of food at a greater price)
- The others chose to go on FB with their awesome tech phones while I'm stuck with my beloved w980 with no Wifi feature. =(

"FB war"

- Stayed in 1867 while everyone was in 2010
- Had loads of laugh watching them chat with FB instead of chatting in reality
- See their frustrated faces when the Wifi got cut off and trying to connect to other networks.
- Called Wui Mun to join us for yumcha.
- Decided on the Curve, and walked back to Sakura

"Sexy backs"
This was candid so they weren't posing. But it looks like they were!

- When we arrived, most of the shops were taking last orders
- Settled on McD in e@Curve. >_>
- Chat more, exchange riddles and gossips
- Said goodbye about 12.30am

Monday-day
Cooking at Amanda's! Supposed to go PD but the plan got canceled, and Tantan and Yoongyoong had something to do last minute, so it's only 4 of us whackos. Me, Von, Mei Ling and Manda.

We met up about 10.30, then began our cooking! XD
- Manda enlightened us on the menu of the day, Bubur Chacha, Pasta and Chicken Pie!
- Chicken pie was already prepared by Manda's mum (cooking wonder!) and was baking when we got there
- Prepared ingredients for BBCC and Pasta, I was assigned to cut the potato and yam! Beware of my knife skills! Muahaha.

"Acting busy"
Von and her kung fu chopping skills

- After a long time, finally finished cutting up stuff.
- Put the BBCC stuff to boil
- Ate chicken pie! It was GOOOOOD. Mmmmmmmmmm. We got the recipe!
- Preparing to make the pasta. Manda the chef!

"Tasting her creation"

- Loads of laughter in between. I caught some pretty nice videos. Always hilarious to re-watch!

"Mei Ling and her tap plant"

- Eat eat eat!

"Mmmmmmmm"

- Chat chat chat

"Most normal pic of the day"

- Cleaned-up, played a few games, lazed around Manda's house
- Discovered her awesome swing!

Ahhh it was so fun! I want to do it again!

My mum told me today that the seat belt penalty will be enforced on everyone at last. RM300 fine for not buckling up.

Then my relatives were discussing about it today. Saying about how people would refuse to buckle up. Saying it's too uncomfortable to have it restricting your movements. Something restraining your chest.

Hello people, welcome to the world of Seat Belts.

Talking about how uncomfortable it is, how you would just bribe the police a mere sum of RM50 instead of paying the full summon. Isn't it much easier if you just buckle up instead? What's a 30 minutes or 2 hours worth of restraining your chest compared to bribing a police, unless your conscience is okay with that.

I might need to have a talk with my conscience, but anyway... I don't think I can bribe the police either. I feel too much of a coward to do so.

And a story from my friend, who heard from her friend's friend. Who got caught speeding in the middle of the night. So instead of paying the summon, she chose to ask how much would it cost to belanja minum. And she gave him all she got, which was Rm50.

The police told her: So little?

I think she answered that that is all she has in her wallet.

Then the police told her, get this... Tak apa... tunjuklah SEXY sikit.

Sexy sikit?? Please go choose another profession. WTF dude. There is something seriously wrong in this country. Sigh.

Anyway, back to the seat belts. I don't know why I'm so passionate about this issue to be honest. Lol.

Just... buckle up. Save your own life. Save the fine money. Isn't it that easy?

... or would you prefer having your head jammed up in the windscreen of your car if you accidently rammed on the break during an emergency, cutting your pretty face in 20 places?

I don't think so.

P.S. Bought a working blouse and jacket today at 60%. WOOT. Sales rocks.

Maybe I'll see you, so I wear the clothes you bought me
Cut my hair short the way you liked it
To walk the road I walked with you
I walk around the long way, thinking maybe you'll be there
I kept my old phone number
Maybe you'll try to find me again, my house still the same
In my mini-hompy, the songs we used to listen together
Maybe you'll see me, maybe you'll come back

Yes people, today I helped with the kuih making again. The substitute to the rescue! Toilet relief. Lunch relief. Taking-the-clothes-in-due-to-the-rain relief. You name it, I can do it!

Although I didn't do much, but sitting in front of burning charcoal from 11am to 7pm can tire you. I kid you not. Try it.

And tomorrow, a friend from Ipoh is coming to KL. See Mun. She's a real joker, a random fella. And we have stuff in common so I'm really looking forward to seeing her. Because when else can I do so since we've already graduated and she's having her ceremony in Aussie. We used to hang out in Uni. More frequently in Aussie (our steamboat sessions) and the final sem when I stayed in the hostel (mahal sial hostel). Sharing our music interests, dramas and movies. We'd go to Pyramid and walk, spend on good food and on the last day I was there, I chatted with her in her room up to 4am. It was really sad to part, but to meet up once in a while, I really look forward to it. =)

Get up, get up, get up even if you fall down a lot
Even if the world I trusted in betrays me again
I I I I will never cry like a fool
Oh no no no, don't act sneaky like others do

When the girls gather, there are bound to be fun times.

I can't wait!

Yep, I forgot to update for a week.

Okay, more like lazy. Anyway... I'm trying to remember what I did last week. I'm actually very bad at remembering things. I have pretty short memory. Which explains why I LOVE last minute studying... No it's not an excuse. XD

Friday 8/1 (I nearly forgot about this!)

Manda and Von came over. We watched Zoolander and played Monopoly and some Wii!

Fun times I tell ya!

Saturday 9/1

Catch up session at Paddington in The Curve. Wai Loon bought a DSLR so Jackie now has a partner...

... and everyone else has nicer pictures on FB.

Monday 11/1

CNY is around the corner. My mum and kaima is making kuih kapek! Kapit? Love letters? Whatever.

Being the good/nosy daughter I am, I decided to "help" them out whenever I'm free.
You see, the only thing I can do is put the kuih into their tins.

I cannot fold the kuih as they are too hot for me to handle! But looking at the pros doing it, it's like folding a tissue paper... So I give up and let them do their job! I'm just the benchwarmer/subsitute whenever they go for a break, which they hardly do unless it's lunch break.

Imagine how drool-worthy (not that it isn't drool-worthy ey? XD) this will look with a DSLR camera. Something that I would not invest on. Nope. I have other hobbies that already burns a hole in my purse, thank you very much.

Tuesday 12/1

I watched a uh-what-just-happened movie today - The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.
It wasn't boring. No. It was just... I can't explain it. It is kind of interesting though. As tantan would put it, one of the more interesting movies we watched together for the past month.
Because we are still kids at heart (or we thought we were) and we went to watch The Princess and the Frog and Alvin and the Chipmunks 2. And I wished I had used the money to eat McD instead.

R.I.P. Heath Ledger

Wednesday 13/1

Supposed to be a power cut from 11am to 6pm, so I went over to help/disturb them making the kuih.

American Idol Season 9!! Somehow Kara seems more in place after Paula left. I just want to see Ellen! She'll appear after the audition rounds I think.

Enough of blabbing from me. It's already Thursday, and I have not started sewing the Timcanpy that this girl wanted me to sew during CF. @_@

Imma start today.

Timcanpy > Resume

I'll... do my resume after I'm done with Timcanpy.

And then the little boy falls asleep
Among the ashes in the flames shining...
First one, then two...

Today...

Yours truly...

Went jogging. I swear a snowstorm is coming.

It all started when my dear Manda, who lives literally a stone's throw away from me (if I throw the freaking stone with all my might) called me at 6pm, when I was weighing between the option of watching the American Idol Season 8 rerun or taking a lovely evening nap.

The lovely tune of "Wedding Dress" by Taeyang rang ever so pleasantly in my ear. Seeing it was Manda, I thought she wanted to discuss about tomorrow's session at my place.

Manda: Heyyyyyy, you wanna go jogging with me?

And you know, me being me, and her being her, I couldn't refuse...

So yes, I got off my lazy butt and went jogging with her around the neighborhood.

I have to say, it was quite fun taking a jog, sweating and being cooled off by the warm evening breeze.

Mmmmmm... XD

So, let's just say I got about.. 15 minutes worth of exercise today? LOL. We walked around the neighborhood after the jog too. Nice! If all goes well (I'm looking at you Mr. Weatherman) we will jog again.

And after the jog today, we went to torture our poor feet in the hot spring! Something that I could only beat her at. I feel so proud staying here, I have gained the ability to withstand hot water on my skin. =D

Till tomorrow comes, Yan signing off!

Not impressed. The only redeeming value are the Chipettes, which were awesome in their own right! Hot N Cold, Put Your Records On and Single Ladies! XD

I remember watching a very old "The Chipmunk Adventure" starring the Chipmunks and the Chipettes which are hand drawn when I was a lil girl.

ahhh memories

We shall watch less kiddie shows from today onwards. New Year resolution? Haha!

Another resolution: Buy my first skirt in 3 years. I sorta know what I want, now to find it!

Girl, put your records on, tell me your favourite song
You go ahead, let your hair down
Sapphire and faded jeans, I hope you get your dreams,
Just go ahead, let your hair down

Kampai + Heineken + Wii = Loads of laughter

New Year fireworks caught on my sucky HP camera. The red dot IS the firework that has yet to expand into its full glory =D

Breakfast at 10am at Steven's Corner. 2nd year in a row! Manda's thumb. =P
Have-breakfast-together-for-the-New-Year gang this time : Me, tantan, Von, lingling and Manda. It shall grow!

3D glasses. Avatar in 3D! fell asleep during the final battle. I ish fail. Woke up in time to see Jake turn into the blue cat suit.

2/1/2010

Apartment repainting in progress. The walls are a mess! Water sprayed on the walls resulted in the ugly patches. It's gonna be beige in a few weeks.

Great start to the New Year!

And Happy Birthday Pei Ying! My childhood friend. <3

I'll start
Monday starts these regular days
The weekend that I long for is still far away
I'm already used to the routines on Tuesday & Wednesday
The smile I faked might have just cramped

By the time I realize, it's Thursday
This is pretty important
Since I don't have any plans for tomorrow night
I'll spend all of Friday thinking
Freely, I'll break through these walls & go
