It's gonna be the year 2010 in just a few hours!!

I went back to my LJ and I realized I didn't make any resolutions for 2009. Who needs resolutions anyway? XP

Reflecting back on 2009:
- Finished my tertiary education with... running colours? I'm sure they don't look like flying to me
- Improving plushie making skills
- Working on my image
- Established and maintained, what I hope would be life long friendships
- Sis got married, I now have a bro-in-law =D
- The last year I can afford to be childish, next year is the working world baybeh!

So for 2010, I'm not making any resolutions either. Because I will (a) forget about them and (b) worry too much to achieve them.

I'd rather live my life at my pace.

Which explains why my resume is not even done yet!

Last year, friends slept over at my place, after playing some Wii.

This year, I'm going to sleep over at Tantan's place. After playing some Wii! And drinking! Not like we can drink alot but wth...

And then having our going-to-be-made-into-a-yearly-tradition breakfast together with Von on 1 Jan. Wheeeeeeeeee~~ We had Stevens last year. Maybe this year too?

and then I'll be going to watch Avatar (for the 2nd time!) but in 3D with my fam. I hope I'm not too tired so I don't fall asleep in the cinema.

I wish everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Hope you had a memorable 2009, but make way for 2010!

Far away, long ago
Glowing dim as an ember,
Things my heart used to know,
Once upon a December

Had fun today! Mario + Tennis FTW

Messed around with some FB apps. Tried the Chinese Horoscope thingy. Obtained some interesting and somewhat true results. I'm gonna pick some interesting ones and post here. =)

I am teh Earth Snake! Hhhhhiiiiiissssssssss~

Brief Description
Snakes are wise, romantic, deep thinkers heavily guided by their intuition. They do not trust others easily and have trouble accepting criticism.
Positive Traits
amiable, compromising, fun-loving, altruistic, honourable, sympathetic, philosophical, charitable, a paragon of fashion, intuitive, discreet, diplomatic, amusing and sexy
Negative Traits
self-righteous, imperious, judgmental, conniving, mendacious, grabby, clinging, pessimistic, fickle, haughty, ostentatious and a very sore loser

Detailed Description
of The Earth Snake

Those applicable to me I highlighted in orange XD

Earth Snakes are the most relaxed of the breeds. They lead calm lives and offer a down-to-earth appeal to any conversation or outing. This may make them seem more friendly, as you may not feel the need to wonder what he's got up his sleeve. They may also shun the need to lash out or take risks, but it isn't from paranoia. They figure their good sense and work ethic will pay off and bring them much fortune and material satisfaction.

So.. Leo + Snake =
Combined Zodiac
(East meets West)
The Leonine Snake
Confident and proud, the Leonine Snake hates to come in second place. They fuel on kudos from others, but will become a bit obnoxious if it goes to their heads.

Like all Leos, you've magnetism and charm. But with this structure, these qualities are brought to the highest point. Few people can have your easiness in life, your aptitude for winning friends and acquaintances.

Friendship and society life holds a large place in the unfolding of your destiny. You can't not bear not being loved, and will always know how to arouse innumerable attachments or unswerving devotions.

Having a deep sense of esthetics and much good taste, you're all naturally attracted by artistic jobs or those related to beauty under all its forms. You can also do well in dancing, show business, cinema. All that's related to luxury, public relations, or leisure time can be a source of profit for you. Love or even marriage can be a help to your success. However, there can be frequent changes in your professional life.

In love, it's rather you who let yourself be loved. You must refrain from too early marriage (uhuh? Lol) or the one decided too suddenly. Marriage, with all the social and mundane advantages that come from it, constitutes the basis of your happiness; a judicious choice is therefore essential. Your faithfulness is shaky, but you always manage of make yourself forgiven because your oaths seem to be so sincere!

The Snake Lover
Snakes are beautiful people who exhibit quite a sexual appeal. They are sleek and seductive and if they want you, will put a spell on you that won't let you stop thinking about them. However, Snakes are quite prejudiced when choosing a partner and don't just choose based on physical qualities. The Snake needs a partner who can appreciate his quirky sense of humor and his wacky way of handling situations, so generally, although quite beautiful and tempting to approach, the Snake does all the pursuing.

The Snake as a Child
Snake children are often loners, enjoying playing by themselves, quietly in their yards or bedrooms. They are often hampered with learning disabilities and thus need patience from teachers and parents. Teachers and parents may have to invest extra time and tutorials in the Snake child in order to keep him up-to-date with all of the other children in the class. When picked on or upset, Snake children tend to pout and hold grudges and when embarrassed or angry (well, sometimes.. =P), they will lash out at the culprit as quickly as they were made fun of.
The Snake as a Friend
Snakes have very few friends because they are not outwardly emotional or open creatures (so blame my horoscope people!). The friends they do make generally last a lifetime, even though peers may find it hard to relate to the Snake because he is withdrawn and secretive. Still, Snakes like social functions, in moderation, where they can gossip about the latest scandal or the newest news. If you stab a Snake in the back it is likely you will never be forgiven. In addition, you should prepare yourself for retaliation for the Snake always gets the last word.
The Snake at Home
The Snake is very sophisticated and cultured in his choices for home decor. They like muted colors and prefer to have one very expensive chair rather than three reasonable priced ones. The Snake is elegant and graceful and places emphasis on his comfort when deciding what to decorate with. As we know, the Snake must have peace, so you may find relaxation or sounds of nature tapes next to the stereo. Snakes do not deprive themselves of luxuries either, as one of everything never seems to ease his mind. He is materialistic and therefore must have as many of everything, if not more than his friends and family (whuutttttt??).
The Snake on Vacation
Snakes love to vacation. They get a great deal of pleasure out of just being lazy. And they love luxurious things, often spending their money on material desires they probably don't need. When a Snake goes on vacation, he really goes on vacation. Fancy restaurants, expensive health clubs and spas, anything in which they can fully indulge themselves. Their getaways must be fully equipped to pamper their every want, or the Snake will become stressed.

The Snake At Work
Snakes become bored easily and therefore change jobs quite frequently. They are very conscientious and diligent at work. Since they are such relaxed individuals, they can often seem to be slacking off at work when in reality they are at the height of their creativity. They are organized and precise. Snakes can make lightening deadlines and can problem solve quickly. Sometimes, because they like to work alone, they can seem as though they are withholding information or being secretive about company initiatives.

Well Suited Snake Occupations
Scientists, Potters, Analysts, Jewelers, Spiritual Leaders, Sociologists, Dieticians, Astrologers, Magicians, Investigators, Painters (uh... nothing on finance? maybe an analyst then...)

Snake Health
Snakes become easily stressed and have to avoid hectic schedules or noisy atmospheres. They do not get a rush from adrenaline, instead, a headache. They need calm and quiet to thrive and succeed. A Snake must have sleep and relaxation to live a long, healthy life.

Money and The Snake
A Snake's worst nightmare is jumping head first into a financial deal or a shopping spree. The Snake can be successful as long as he avoids extemporaneous spending. Although he is intuitive, the Snake will often dive right into decisions without weighing the consequences, which can cause him financial ruin.

Yes.. and all these make me sound like a bitch that lives my life in luxury. Like a rich tai tai.

I wish...

Scattered easily like the clouds, unreachable like a rainbow,
It'll never return, it'll never be soiled, our blue canvas.

Even if things can't remain like this, and are drifted away from here on,
It'll never change, it'll never be a lie, the two of us were able to meet now.
As free as a bird, lonesome like the wind,
It'll never return, it'll never be soiled, the tears-covered canvas

Going up!

This is the first time I spend a festive holiday in Genting.

The crowd can kill. I bet it is as big as the population in Penang.

We left at about 10am, and arrived 11+.

Foggy eh?

I went to the indoor theme park in the Resort part of Genting, the old one. I didn't play anything though. I'm surprised myself! All the while I only wanted to go indoors, as I'm too much of a coward to play the outdoor park.

Why? I'm guessing that I'm torn between winning the Big prize which was a really cute purple hippo (>.<) or unlucky enough to not win anything and instead left with 50+ tickets which IMO, not worth exchanging for anything worthwhile. Good stuff can only be redeemed with at least 100+ tickets. And since I'm only there for awhile, I decided to just stand by and watch everyone else having fun. =(

Tried to sneak in the casino with my mum and relatives... OF COURSE kena caught lah... Sigh.

Trust me, I'll get stopped next yet too even if I'm legally 21.

So I spent the afternoon wandering around. I even had a dizzy/fainting spell while eating lunch! Lucky I was sitting down or I would have fell. I'm weak, I know that since I had several blackouts in secondary school. =/

Speaking of eating, the meals up there were terrifyingly expensive! Now I know why we should always bring cup noodles lol! Imagine 3 plates of nasi campur and 3 teh tarik costing RM80+! I could have 123124342 plates and glasses of teh in KL.

Oh, we visited Lim Goh Tong's museum!

Me and my mahjong sifus.

We also drank some chinese tea worth Rm100 per pot. (@_@) Thanks to my kaiyeh's friend for the drink! Lol.

About 7.30pm, we headed to the Arena of Stars for the concert!

The queue.

The eerie theme park in Genting at night. It was kinda beautiful in a way.

Oh, and what better way to prove that you don't really know someone that well when you can't spell their name...

She's FrancEs Yip. Not FrancIs Yip. Stupid me.

What I DO know is... that she's good! And she speaks in both English and Cantonese so it's cool for me. I can understand her! XD

She sang non-stop from about 2 hours. No breaks, not even to drink water. Just chatting and singing. She's gorgeous for a 68 year old! No kidding! So elegant and proper. She can even crack jokes.

At least I wasn't bored. I know only about 20% of the songs she sang. Lol.

Also, the room we had was soooooooo small. 9 of us magically fitted on the 2 queen size bed that we split in half.

Best comment from kaiyeh:

"We look like dead bodies"

Because the mattresses are in white. So are the blankets. And the mattresses are all on the floor. Creepy.

Couldn't really sleep though because my nephew keeps coughing and wheezing that they brought him to the clinic downstairs.

We left Genting the next day about 10am. Then played mahjong until 12am. *dies*

I had a full Christmas in 2009. I hope the same goes to you. =)

Dad says that he wants to watch Avatar in 3D! OMGGGGG I cannot believe how shocked I am to hear that. We have not been to the cinema for a very long time as a family. the last time was the FREE pass to watch the premier of Da Vinci Code. I hope it is still showing in cinemas next week!

Merry Christmas to all!

Tomorrow morning I will be heading off to Genting to watch Francis Yip! To those who don't know who she is... I gotta say this to you:

Don't worry, I don't know either! I heard she's a good singer though! =)

I just can't wait to play in the arcade.

Once a again Merry Christmas!

This year’s winter too, the tolling of the bells resound
Candles are lit
Prayers are made for presents from Santa Claus
But still nothing is more precious than the days I spend with you

"Troublesome times" and happy times
Both of us together decorating the room
From today, until next year
Let’s always celebrate
Merry Christmas

This town, where we have passed so many days
Is coloured by the light of love as well this year
What kind of feelings will get through?
What kind of wishes will come true?

The people who come to town walk quickly
Everyone is surrounded by love
This year, a year without concerns
Is the present that I want from God

Today is when everything in this world
Is wrapped up in holy light
“Depend on the magic of smiles!”
I’m on the phone with you, listening to you laugh
“I’m waiting in front of the usual train station”
Let’s celebrate together
Merry Christmas

This town where we have passed so many days
This year also ‘Jingle Bells’ is heard
What kind of feelings will get through?
What kind of wishes will come true?

I’m wearing the muffler that you gave me
Under the cold sky, at the appointed place
I rush over to you who have been waiting alone
Look! From the sky, white light is filtering down

This town where we have passed so many days
Powdered snow is dyeing everything white
This evening, to all the people
Somehow or another, please let this warmth be delivered

This town where we have passed so many days
This year also, is coloured by the light of love
What kind of feelings will get through?
What kind of wishes will come true?

Let’s always celebrate this special day together

"The Winter Solstice Festival or The Extreme of Winter is one of the most important festivals celebrated by the Chinese and other East Asians during the dongzhi solar term on or around December 21 when sunshine is weakest and daylight shortest; i.e., on the first day of the dongzhi solar term. The origins of this festival can be traced back to the yin and yang philosophy of balance and harmony in the cosmos. After this celebration, there will be days with longer daylight hours and therefore an increase in positive energy flowing in. Traditionally, the Dongzhi Festival is also a time for the family to get together. One activity that occurs during these get togethers (especially in the southern parts of China and in Chinese communities overseas) is the making and eating of Tangyuan (湯圓, as pronounced in Cantonese; Mandarin Pinyin: Tāng Yuán) or balls of glutinous rice, which symbolize reunion."

Source: Wikipedia (unreliable academically... at least officially, but very useful otherwise)

Like many other Chinese families, my family celebrated the Winter Solstice festival, complete with family reunion and 'Tong Yuen'. My aunt, her friend, my sis and her husband came back home for dinner. Chatted, updated each other and had lots of 'Tong Yuen'. I'm worried that they won't digest. (T.T)

So... since the 'Tong Yuen' can be bought in supermarket nowadays, my mum decided to make it more traditionally, she bought multicoloured doughs from the wet market nearby.

Green and yellow, made into small round shape.

I... had fun mixing the colours. Like Play-Doh!

Boiling the pink ones. Shoooo kyutteeeee.

Cooked ones.

All together now! Bursting with colours!

Unfortunately, they are tasteless!! =)
Save for the syrup (pandan leaves + ginger + rock sugar).

Then... just start OM NOM NOM NOM NOM nom nom...

I'll just stick to supermarket ones with black sesame fillings until the next 'Tong Yuen' eating festival. Yum.

Christmas is coming! What do I have in stored for myself? Watching Francis Yip in Genting with fam and relatives! I'm not sure how excited I should be but spending time with the fam is always great fun!

Between me, who isn't able, and you
Is it alright to be this selfish?
If I don't put it into words, if I don't say it right now
Then I just don't know what will happen
Don't stop me anymore

Back from 2 days of Comic Fiesta. Needless to say, I enjoyed myself this time around. Partly due to the fact that I did not volunteer this year. XD

Sales was pretty good. It was a confirm profit but I did spend on other people's stuff so...

Did not take alot of pictures. Less than 5 perhaps. Cosplay photos will be everywhere anyway. Save my battery. Aha.

Oh, and the emcees were WONDERFUL. I like their sporting attitude and sense of humour. Wicked and a lil bit of underlying messages that I manage to catch. They make CF funny and alive, especially during intermissions and even during the Cosplay competition. Imagine some goody-goody emcee. Booooooorinnngggggg. I hope they bring them back a few more years! XP

And on Day 2, during intermission, they played Gee by Girls Generation. Then a bunch of girls started dancing to the steps that Gee is famous for. Then there were cheering. And more Korean songs were played. Sorry Sorry by Suju and Abracadabra from BEG and even Nobody from Wonder Girls! Korea invaded CF. Haha. The bunch of girls then got invited to do an impromptu performance on stage following much cheering. I have to girl them props for being so sporting too! Seems like alot of people in CF are actually into Korean groups for the deejays to have that song on the playlist. I even heard Lollipop from BigBang and 2NE1. ZOMG I was so happy inside!

Will update more about it soon if I have anything to add!

One thing though that I like about CF, it's that I can relate to most of the people there. Even talk to strangers! I'm so happy. Lol.

I can't wait for CF '10. I hope its somewhere like Sunway again.

...things happen. Lol.

I'm really surprised. Grateful. Speechless.

I've achieved something I've NEVER thought of achieving. Unconsciously I achieved it.

That's the thing about me, you know. All my life, I do not place any expectations on myself education wise. I hardly pressure myself in education. It's all about my pace.

And today, I have achieved, in my book, what seems to be success after success. Surprise after surprise. First with PTS, then in UPSR, then in PMR, then SPM, even Pre-U and now di menara gading.

Thank you to whoever has been blessing me behind my back.

Nevertheless, life's never perfect, so while I'm enjoying success here, I'm lacking elsewhere.

For once, I've put myself to the test, and I feel that I'm improving. The battle was half won. =)

And... HAPPY BIRTHDAY VON!

See her happy/scared face?
Now you are officially older than me. HAHA

Managed to surprise her, and we got surprised back. By Fridays and by Birthday girl.
Thanks Amanda, Brentda, Tantan and LingLing for helping me!

I believe the next victim is also someone by the name of Von.

CF is coming this weekend. I'm excited - sewing, packing and decorating. I truly enjoy doing this and I can only hope that other people like my work as well. I hope that in the future, this can be one of my side income. Haha.

Sewing was really not my hobby. It's actually more to plushie making. Keychains. Crafts. But when people ask me what is that I do, I just tell them sewing. Because well... it's easier to imagine what I do?

In commemoration of Xmas last year, I made these to sell in CF 08:

A Santa onigiri keychain. And they sold really well. Thank you! (T.T)

This year I made something for Xmas too, but just something really small. I'll post it during Xmas if I remember!

Oh you know I was on the honor role,
got good grades,
and got no soul,
raise my hand before I can speak my mind,
I've been biting my tongue too many times,
And then that magic man said to obey,
(uh huh)
do what magic man do,
not what magic man say,
Now could I please have the attention of the class,
today's assignment,
KICK SOME ASS!

I found the perfect quotation for my blog. *points upwards*

As I mentioned, I was supposed to shop for myself today. I DIDN'T.
I walked through every shop that I usually go to. Found nothing. Nada. Sigh.

I have a battle coming up, a personal battle. I must win this. Still planning my strategies. Sometimes I think I think too much. See? (-.-)

Anyone watching Battleground? It is this hiphop dancing competition on Astro 311.
I tell you... it's becoming my family show. Every Saturday 7pm my family will sit in front of the TV watching it.
I have to say, the groups this year are SO GOOD. Rooting for them all. Seriously.
Today's episode was supposed to pick 3 groups to be in the finals next week (live in MOS!!). Instead... the judges chose 4 groups! See? They are that good!

Can't wait for next week! It coincides with CF though CF ends at 7pm. Maybe I can enter MOS to watch it live? Ngehehehehe.

Why do we want to be the best

I find it kinda cute that when my neighbour walked past my house today, she called out:

"Lady~~~~~"

Lol! Of course Lady, being my snobby cat, didn't respond at all.

Tomorrow, I'm promised myself to go shopping, to reward myself. What for? Just for the sake of it. I have not been shopping in a while, I'm hoping to get some bargains tomorrow.

... and I'm going alone! I asked mum to dump me there because she has an event to attend nearby and pick me up afterwards. Or I'll be ROTTING at home I tell ya. ROTTING and it will stink!

It's 'me' time!

I'm also suspecting that my ka-ching tap will be running really dry this month. No kidding. Chinese New Year is not far along anyway. I just have to... spend more cautiously. I'm proud of my self control over my spending haha.

More recently I have been reflecting on myself,, and I realized I REALLY need to brush up on my social skills. Help me please. I swear I can be like a lunatic with the regular gang but I'm like a total alien with others. I can't help but control to NOT ridicule myself in front of other but I like to make fun of my regular gang. It's fun. Heh.

I just need more practice. I'm getting there. Somehow.

Eventful weekend coming up!

Here I am, still sitting on my chair, typing this, at home.
Basically, my job search has yet to begin.

Yesterday, I met up with a few of my U friends. They came down from their hometowns to buy the academic transcript. They have sorta decided to continue studying. I'm leaning towards getting a job instead. Not sure if I want to study anymore at this moment but definitely not in the near future. The thought of it bores me honestly. This degree was supposed to mark the end of my student life. But now that I've graduated, I'm looking further beyond that, the thought of getting more professional qualifications to increase my market share becomes tempting.

...but not so soon. I'm done.

I have thought of doing something big, something unrelated to my field of studies. If all goes well, I wish to expand myself in the plushie making business. But looking at my skills, I have a looooooooooooooooooooooooooong way to go. *sigh*

I want to watch movies! Double dose! XD

Today is just another day. Another Sunday.

I played Mahjong with my aunties today. I haven't joined them since uni started this sem. So satisfying. Haha!

I'm just thankful for my peaceful life right now, one where people would dub as a fairytale life. But no, now that I think of it, my life is not like one. No life is perfect after all.

...and not to forget the Hell I would be in once I start my job. Not so soon of course. What's the rush? Hahaha. *gets-bricked-by-other-freshgrads*

I'm currently addicted to BigBang. Hahaha! Too bad nobody to fangirl with. =(

By chance, today when I went to Wangsa Walk, I was stopped by 2 girls. One in a masquerade mask extending her hand and talked to me in Mandarin. I smiled at her and said I couldn't understand her. Then, she said to me:

"Hi, I'm HIV positive. Will you shake my hand?"

And without a doubt, I shook her hand.

One should know that HIV does not transmit through handshake, at least.

After that, they began to ask us questions about AIDS. I'd admit I don't know much, and she gladly enlightened me. I also got a coupon and a red ribbon. (^_^)

The coupon. For lucky draw and free gifts.

oh, FYI, World AIDS Day falls on 1st of December yearly. Yeah, that's news to me too.

The awareness campaign.

The red ribbon represents concern for people with HIV and AIDS, and the need for other people to be aware and to care.

So people, the next time someone with HIV approaches you, don't be afraid to shake their hands!

My monitor approves!

My table lamp approves!

Allen Walker approves!

Kyoya approves! (He was even glad to pose for it)

Lady was being suspicious at first...

But she approves of it too!

On another unrelated note, High School Musical marathon today on Disney Channel. All 3 of 'em. Haha.

This morning I watched Mulan rerun on Disney too. Brings back memories. And now that I can FULLY understand their dialogues, I appreciate it more. (^_^) Not to mention the totally-outrageously-funny-and-awesome BM subtitles! Look at the song below and imagine it in BM please. ROFL

Princess and the Frog, I have high hopes for ya.

Till next time!

Tranquil as a forest
But on fire within
Once you find your center you are sure to win
You're a spineless, pale pathetic lot
And you haven't got a clue
Somehow I'll make a man out of you

(we are men)
We must be swift as the coursing river

With all the force of a great typhoon

Mysterious as the dark side of the moon

EDUCATION is like a video game (you know... where you kill monsters and all, with very leng chai and leng lui main characters).

The tutorial will be nursery.
Level 10 will be kindergarten.
Level 20 will be primary school.
Level 30 will be secondary school.
...Oh, if you bought a pirated game, it might hang at this point. Be very careful! If it doesn't hang there, then you can continue playing the game.
Level 40 will be pre-U.
Level 50 will be U.
And then you will fight the Final Boss.
If you beat 'em, you will get 2 possible endings.

In the GOOD ending (you know, when you KO less, use less time to finish the game), you will probably find a job, and earn ka-chings. ($.$)
In the BAD ending (spent to much time on side quests, die alot during battles in the game), you will be unemployed for a while, and spending ka-chings when you have no way to refill 'em. If you're up for it, you might replay the game now that you know how it works, and hopefully achieve the good ending. (T.T)

And in every game, there's always the achievement part where you strive to complete each mission beautifully. Then maybe your peers will know you as a Professional. Masters. Dr..

In my case, I've played the game, defeated the final boss, I'm now waiting to watch the ending to this Education that took me 17 years to complete.

On another note, I'm currently very occupied with making my lovelies to sell during Comic Fiesta. I hope they really sell, because they are not really doujins, and Comic Fiesta is Comic after all. I hope my booth gets a good spot with the big screen/ main stage in front of me. (*.*)

Occasionally, I'm also helping out (and fooling around) with my mum and kaima making their delicacies. Ahaha. And eating some in the process.

It's rather gloomy now, I hope it stays that way and not throw some thunder on me.

Till next time!
